I am exhausted, and it is only 7:30. The good news is that I was planning on going to bed by 8, so the weariness is timely. My most profound thoughts today all started with, “It’s so hot out today that…” Like:
It’s so hot out today that I carried a cooler instead of a purse. (True story. My ice cream was still all melty by the time I got home from the store.)
It’s so hot out today that every time I stand up in my apartment I feel like I am suffocating because my air conditioner is only big enough to cool the lower four feet of the room. That is a true story also.
I can’t remember the other ones. They were probably just as pointless. In any case, it is so hot out that the only way to cool off is to go outside and experience even hotter weather; so that when you come back inside, it feels cold.
I had a nice day spiritually today. I went and visited the man I met while walking a dog a few weeks ago. We played dominoes. It was great.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15
