Today was a very interesting day. I think God intended fasts to last 40 days not 46 like Lent. That is my opinion. These last six days feel a little unnatural. I am for the most part cheerfully fasting; however, it seems to be taking an unnatural toll on my body at this point.
I received several blessings from God tonight. One in the gift of community with an amazing friend. Another in the form of financial provision. Another in recognizing that it is Thursday, and on a night a few thousand years ago a Man prayed. I am not alone. He sacrificed more than I ever will.
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” …
He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” Matthew 26
