In with the new

What a fantastic way to bring in the new year! I am thankful my day went well. Honestly, I woke up this morning, and one of my very first thoughts was, “I am never going to another party again.” It took a little bit to get me out of the funk of little sleep and a slight sugar hangover. Then I struggled with bitterness and anger for the first several hours of my day. What got me out of the funk?

I am not entirely sure. I prayed a lot. But I just started asking God that the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in His sight. You know it is interesting that He never wants me to meditate on bitterness and anger. I had that brilliant thought today.

The party this afternoon was awesome and pulled me out of my funk. I came home determined to not fall back into it. Then I had a lovely talk on the phone, and now I am off to bed. It is a little odd to realize the new year is finally here. I have been waiting for it for so long. Being a freelancer, it is nice to have the holidays be done and be back to a regular work schedule. Whatever that means…

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
