Free at last

I don’t know why God, but I know the One who does. Today I was considering that God is never afraid because He intimately knows the One who is in control. I also considered that perhaps we are afraid when our ego is in danger because we are seeking our own glory and not the glory of God. Surely the reason martyrs facing lions and tigers and stakes hundreds or thousands of years ago were at peace because they sought the glory of God and not their own glory. I can become afraid when I think my own glory/name is the point.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. – The Second Epistle to the Corinthians 3:17
