Cleansed

I just thought of the best joke ever, and it might take a whole month for me to get to tell it to someone. This is unfortunate because it is making me giggle really hard. I love thinking of funny things to tell people. It usually takes eons for the right situation to happen to actually say them anyway.

Something happened today. I woke up this morning, and it was still a battle. I am not sure what was happening, but about 9 am suddenly it was gone. I have had peace the rest of the day. I don’t even think any mean thoughts. Just quiet and calm ones. Thank goodness!

In my quiet time today, it really struck me that that when the leper comes to Jesus, He didn’t just heal him, but reached out and touched him. That was a really big deal back then. He could have just said, “Be clean.” But before He cleansed the leper from His uncleanness, He was willing to touch his uncleanness. For some reason Jesus’ choice struck me as so incredibly loving.

A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said, “be clean.” Matthew 8
