Clarity

Monday – 9:30 pm

Nothing compares to the promise I have in Him. That is what my phone is singing to me. I wonder why I am so reluctant to live in His promises half the time? I am not intellectually reluctant, just accidentally reluctant. Too busy trying to fix my life situations to live in constant inner peace all the time.

I would like to think His promise to me is that He gives me all things to enjoy. Just like He did to Paul. I am glad I get to enjoy everything I have. Then there are all the situations I get to learn to be content in. I do not feel like there are that many parts of my life I need to learn to be content with today. Well, except the conversation God keeps having with me about being unChristian. One of these days, I will listen to Him.

It would be nice if God had written me a textbook with what I should do in this situation. You know why it would be nice? Because then when people have a problem with my decision, I could turn to a certain page and say, “Oh, but look here. This is what God told me to do in this situation.” In some cases, it is hard to do that with the Bible.

I just came home from counseling. It was my first time in eight weeks. The decision to go so long without counseling was a real mistake! I used the excuse that I had too much going on in my life to deal with emotionally, so I didn’t want to add anymore. Counseling is sort of a relief and added work at the same time. I have decided added work is better than getting stuck on certain areas of my growing. But technically nothing about my life changes with counseling. I just have more hard things to do with more clarity now.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. – I Timothy 6:17-19
