Breathe

Jesus said to [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” John 11:25-27 NIV

God

  1. is the resurrection. Yesterday I was reminded of how the righteousness that brings life is God’s righteousness and not what can be manufactured by the law or by people following the law. I am also reminded that God’s righteousness brings life; it doesn’t condemn to death. “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17 NIV. God’s righteousness saves; it does not condemn. It is the righteousness of the Pharisees, that of religion, that condemns. Romans 2 shows how fruitless such righteousness is.

  2. is life. God creates. God re-creates. God gives life. Spirit of life that gives life. I am grateful to have life!

Therefore I….

  1. have been raised to life. The Spirit of God lives in me, raising me to life. I was dead; I am alive. Anything in my physical being that still looks, speaks, or acts like death will be raised to life.

  2. breathe. I am so grateful to breathe!
