Answered prayers

Time for bed, you sleepy head. God must have heard my article about circumstances yesterday and decided to remind me that He does care about them because I experienced more than one answered prayer today. On my way home from a babysitting job I felt I should go buy ice cream. The store I like to buy my ice cream from is the only store in walking distance that I am aware of that sells it by the gallon. Better yet, it is for $5 a gallon. The store was slightly out of my way, and I did mention to God that I would do so but He knew I had a big goal to reach when I got home. Really didn’t have a lot of time to get the ice cream. I walked into the store, and as I walked past the registers to get the ice cream, my brain registered that I was going to be waiting in line with my ice cream for a long time. I didn’t complain, but I did ask God for a favor. Could He devise a way to get me out of the lines and make it a super quick trip in to the store?

I was contentedly standing in line, when I heard someone say, “Miss, Miss.” I looked around and the guy who was standing at the customer service counter was looking at me. I said, “me?” Yes, and he motioned for me to come over; and that is how God had me buy a $5 gallon of vanilla ice cream while being in the store for what must have been fewer than 5 minutes. It really did make my afternoon. I love ice cream! I have been so grateful for it because God seems to be so interested in building my character that He often makes me wait instead of giving me instant gratification; but today He gave me instant gratification. For which I am grateful. Along with all the many other miracles that He performed throughout the day.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15
