Almost another year

Today has been mostly peaceful. It has started to become a battle toward evening. Tomorrow night I am babysitting, so there will be no end of the year reflections here then. Just a blurry mind about midnight as I “celebrate” bringing in a new year. I have never quite understood this tradition. I like sleeping so much that that seems one of the best ways to celebrate nearly anything.

It will most definitely be a new beginning in my life. It reminds me of an old country song. One you will have never heard of anyway because the singers were not all that famous. I will spare you. Today or perhaps it was yesterday morning, I looked at the timeline on my wall and thought about how very far away 2100 seemed. Then it occurred I wouldn’t have to wait that long. I can’t fathom I will even have to wait so far as 2070. Soon. Even so come, Lord Jesus!

Jesus told them another parable, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. The owner’s servants went to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters, ‘First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.”” Matthew 13:24-30
